Widespread identity checks and searches were carried out throughout Jerusalem on Friday and Saturday. Passers-by were stopped in a number of streets and asked to show their identity cards. Traffic was halted and vehicles searched; the passengers being asked to get out of their cars.
Nothing was found during these searches and no one was arrested, but Noach Zvuloni, a member of the Revisionist Tel Hai Fund staff and M. Yanovsky, a worker at the Jewish Community Council, were taken from their home on Friday to Latrun.
An identity check was carried out at the Talpiot Cafe and the surrounding area yesterday morning by a military patrol accompanied by a Palestinian constable.
A pistol magazine containing six cartridges was found by two children in the Yemin Moshe Quarter yesterday morning. The magazine was later found to be that of the pistol stolen from Dr. R. Katzenellnbogen in Jerusalem on August 5.
After a search of the Yemin Moshe Quarter by troops on Friday morning, LP 10 was reported missing by the owner of a flat.
